LONDON, England – February 2, 2026 – ScaleFibre has announced the launch of its SkySPAN™ ADSS (All-Dielectric Self-Supporting) optical cable series, expanding its outdoor portfolio to meet the growing demand for aerial fibre deployments in the utility and telecommunications sectors.
The SkySPAN™ range is engineered to eliminate the need for metallic messenger wires or lashing, allowing for a “single-pass” installation process that significantly reduces labour costs and pole-loading stress. Because the construction is entirely non-metallic (dielectric), SkySPAN™ can be safely installed in the “communications space” on high-voltage power poles without the risk of electrical tracking or electromagnetic interference."
The SkySPAN™ lineup includes three specialized variants designed for varied environmental loads. SkySPAN™ Short Span is optimized for urban distribution and spans up to 140m, SkySPAN™ Medium Span is a double-jacketed design for spans up to 220m, and SkySPAN™ Long Span is engineered for longer distances between structures, supporting spans up to 500m with reinforced strength member configurations.
The series is available in fibre counts from 6F to 288F and features dry-core water-blocking system to simplify prep-time and eliminate the need for specialized cleaning solvents in the field. The design incorporates ScaleFibre’s StaticGEL™, ensuring reduced mess during preparation whilst retaining compatibility with standard single fibre splicing workflows.
The SkySPAN™ series is tested to international standards and is available for immediate procurement through the company’s worldwide entities hubs.
